Take Me To The Moon And Back!

We’ve longed to see the stars, the moon, and our planet from outer space. Fantasized of being astronauts on an exclusive mission, flying and exploring the galaxies we’ve yet to learn about. SpaceX CEO Elon Musk continues to surprise us by making our imaginings into a reality. The company has announced they will be taking 2 private citizens to a flight around the moon this year.

The privileged crew will get to sit back and enjoy the ride while taking in the views. However, they will have some training to be able to maneuver the spacecraft for any emergencies since it will be mostly automated.

The first test launch will be this summer for the Falcon Heavy rocket and a test flight in November for the Dragon 2 spacecraft, flying to the moon and back is months from being a reality. SpaceX approximates the journey will last a week. The plan consists of 2 to 3 days travel time to the moon, then circle around it using the moon’s orbit, then start engines again and begin the trip back to earth. SpaceX also says the Dragon will be able to land anywhere on Earth, including water.

Seems like SpaceX is pretty much ready to mark history as for the first time a private spaceflight company will ever reach the moon with private citizens.

“Love you to the moon and back”, can’t be used so loosely anymore because they might just expect it.
