Gable at the Waist



This colorful painting feataures the Boeing B-17 and a crew photo that includes Clark Gable. During World War II, Clark Gable joined the United States Army Airforce and flew 5 combat nissions – though it was thought he had flown many more – and served as an observer/waist gunner. Gable was wounded by flak during a mission over Germany and Hitler offered a reward to anyone who could capture him alive.
